Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Neel Sharma ("we", "us" or "our"), the developer of the Lockdown iPhone app (the "App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, reverse engineer or create derivative works of the App, except where applicable law expressly permits it.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App:

• in violation of any law or regulation;
• to restrict or monitor a device you do not own or are not authorized to manage;
• in any situation where blocked apps might be needed for safety, health or emergency purposes.

You are responsible for choosing which apps to block. Do not block apps you may need in an emergency. iOS always allows phone calls and emergency services, but other apps you rely on may be unavailable during a session.

4. How blocking works

Lockdown uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks with individual authorization, which keeps the device owner in control. This means:

• Turning off Lockdown in Settings › Screen Time removes all restrictions immediately, including during a Strict session.
• A Strict session hides the End button in the App. It is a commitment aid, not a security control.
• Sessions must be at least 15 minutes, a limit set by iOS.
• Blocking, notifications and Live Activities depend on iOS and may be affected by system updates, settings, device restarts or Apple's own behavior, which are outside our control.

Lockdown is not a parental-control product and is not designed to stop someone else from using a device.

5. Purchases

If the App offers paid features, they are sold through Apple's App Store. Payment, billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms, and we do not receive your payment information. Prices and features are shown in the App Store before you buy.

6. Ownership

The App, its design, name, logo, text, graphics and code are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation.

7. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every app you select will be blocked at all times, that restrictions will lift at an exact moment, or that notifications will be delivered. The App is a productivity aid and does not guarantee any academic or other outcome.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunity, grades, income or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including any app being blocked or unblocked at an unexpected time. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $10.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties or liabilities to be excluded, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

9. Apple-specific terms

These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple").

• We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the App.
• If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or similar claims.
• If a third party claims the App infringes its intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.

Where these Terms are silent, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your license if you breach these Terms. Sections 6 to 9 and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing law and changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise. We may update these Terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above shows when. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the new Terms.
